Character Analysis

  • Generally, if I require you to do a character analysis in class, you'll receive a specific assignment with rubric/handouts.  They will be attached in the "related files" section of this page when appropriate.

However, when reading a novel, it's often helpful to do a little quick character analysis chart for your main characters.  This can help you differentiate characters when you are reviewing in the spring.

Also take into account the type of character.  Is the character flat (undeveloped) or round (fully developed with multiple traits)?  Is the character static, or does the character experience change and growth throughout your reading?
