• Hopkins County Health Department Recommendation for When Sick Children May Return to School

Children that are sick with respiratory symptoms that are consistent with Covid-19, such as runny nose, sore throat, headache, cough, nausea, vomiting, loss of taste or smell, and/or fever of 100.4 or higher will be restricted from school for 72 hours. If they test positive for Covid-19 during this time, Covid-19 isolation will apply. If they are negative for Covid-19 or do not test, they may return to school after 72 hours, as long as they are without a fever for 24 hours with waning symptoms, and can tolerate mask-wearing.
