    Students in K-5 understand that technology is used in all content areas to support directed and independent learning.


    Computer Skills for Kindergarten:

    • Whole Brain Rules and Procedures and EES school wide Expectations.
    • Learn to open a program from a desktop icon by double clicking with the mouse.
    • Locate and recognize their name.
    • Use of district approved software covering concepts in Math (number recognition) and Reading (letter recognition) .
    • Learn proper computer terminology such as monitor, keyboard, and mouse etc….
    • MAPS testing
    • Brain Pop Jr. - Internet Safety
    • Brain POP Jr. -  Bullying
    • Bullying pledge and discuss cyber bullying.
    • Use of  the mouse to click and double click and recognizing program icons independently.
    • Use of district approved software for math and reading.
    • Use of district approved software in letter, number, and shapes identification.
    • Introduced to  a district approved software for keyboarding.
    • Kindergarten students use several different programs for keyboarding and have identified letters on the keyboard to enter their names and have used the enter key, shift key, and space bar key.
    • Use of the ipads for their primary technology.

    • Brain Pop Jr. Bullying
    • Brain Pop Jr. Parts of a computer
    • Bullying pledge and discuss cyber bullying.
    • Keyboarding skills, focusing on home row keys and posture. 
    • They are working on demonstrating proper use of the mouse to click, double click and drag. 
    • Explore Microsoft Word/Google docs documents.
    • Use of multiple search engines
    • Use of the ipads for their primary technology.

    Computer Skills for Second Grade:

    • Whole Brain Rules and Procedures & EES Expectations.
    • Use of district approved software to practice keyboarding skills.
    • Use of district approved software to cover concepts in Math and Reading.
    • Learn how to use search engines.
    • Learn proper computer terminology and proper use of special keys on keyboard.
    • Learn proper way to long on and off of  a computer.

    •  Introduced to multiple search engines.

    • Brain Pop Parts of a Computer

    • 3rd grade students work on keyboarding skills focusing on home row keys and posture. 
    • Learn the various functions of keys along with using their mouse to copy/paste, scroll, and drag and left/right click.
    • Create and publish products for audiences inside an outside the classroom using technology such as Microsoft Word/Docs, Publisher, and Power Point/Google slides.      
    • They gather and use accurate information from teacher selected kid friendly search engines and websites to create and communicate in various modes.
    • Use of the ipads for their primary technology. 


    Computer Skills for Fourth Grade:

    • Work on their keyboarding skills focusing on home row keys and posture.

    • Introduced to PAWS, a program that introduces students to the world of work with information about 100 different jobs.
    • Fact Frenzy (Multiplication Math Facts).
    • Use of the ipads for their primary technology.
