About Mr. Overby
This is my eighth year at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School. I spend my day working with some great students in a resource classroom setting. The majority of the students call me "Mr. O."
Like other staff members, I am also a graduate of MNHHS. While at MNHHS, I was active in the MNHHS Marching Maroons band. After graduation, I attended MCC and transferred to Murray State University, were I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Business, majoring in Business Administration, in May 2000. Upon graduation, I worked at various retail positions. In January 2009, I decided to return to the classroom to pursue a career in education. In May 2012, I graduated from MSU (again) with a Bachelor's of Science degree with dual certification in Learning & Behavior Disorders (K-12) and Elementary Education (K-5). Prior to returning to MNHHS, I taught one year at Pride Elementary. In December 2015, I completed a Master's of Arts in Education degree in Special Education - Moderate to Severe Disabilities (K-12), from Western Kentucky University.
Most of my time is spent with my family. Jennifer and I have been married since June 2016. Jennifer is a teacher in Henderson County. She is a 7th grade Math teacher at South Middle School. This summer, we welcomed our daughter, Willa, into the world. Rounding our our family is Willa's big brother, Norman (our miniature dachshund). He's adjusted to Willa nicely, and is very protective of his little sister. Norman has his own Instagram page (@normantheminiwienerdog) if you'd like to follow him.
