My Home Page

  • Welcome to my website!  My name is Gretchen Fischer. I am a Building  Coach that has been teaching 24 years. 15 of those years have been at West Broadway. One year I taught at Pride and I also taught 3 years in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia (middle school special education & kindergarten for 2 years). I love teaching and feel blessed that I have a job that I know God wants me to do.

I got my bachelor's degree in elementary education at Murray State University. I have a learning disabilities endorsement from University of Evansville and a master's degree in special education (LBD) from Murray State also.

My faith and my family are very important to me. I have been married for 19 years. We are both from Evansville, IN. We have 2 beautiful daughters. One is a sophmore in college @ Henderson Community College and our other daughter is in 9th grade at Madisonville North Hopkins High School. I am so thankful for both of them.

I also have 2 dogs: a golden retriever and a shar-pei mix. The golden retriever, Belle, comes to school with me every Friday. She is definitely PET THERAPY for some of my students that need that extra love. She can sense when a student needs her.  She has been in 2 dog shows and continues to win blue ribbons. She has been named Most Beautiful, Best of Show, Best Trained, and Biggest. I would love it if you stopped by on Friday to see her!  She is registered and met the requirements through Therapy Dogs Incorporated and we are an official Pet Therapy Team.

If you ever need to talk to me, I would love to hear from you or you can jot me an email. I hope my webpage will be a useful tool for students and parents to communicate.

    Take care and God bless.

    Gretchen Fischer
