My Home Page

  • Welcome to my new classroom website!

My name is Missy Bogle, and I have been a special education teacher for over 9 years.  I am so excited to get to work with your first grader this year at Earlington Elementary School!  My goal is to work together with you to help your child reach his/her goals, and succeed in the common core curriculum.

I spend a good portion of my day in the regular classroom collaborating, and team teaching with Mrs. Ramsey, Mrs. Moss, and Mrs. Gilkey.  It is my job to ensure students are receiving modifications, supports, and adaptations where needed in the classroom.  I work with the regular teacher to develop, implement, and keep data for behavior plans/goals.  I also pull some children for direct instruction in a smaller setting (depending on their Individual Education Plan) for reading, math, writing, or social skill instruction.

My philosophy is all children can learn at their own pace, and in their own way.  I have high expectations for my students, and I encourage them to work to their full potential.   We celebrate successes, and we work to improve weaknesses.

I follow the clip chart method for classroom management used by the rest of the school.  All students begin on green, and have the opportunity to clip up for different rewards based on what color they clipped up to.  Students may also clip down.  For each clip down there is a consequence.  When the student clips down to the last color (red) I will make a parent contact.  Students who remain on green or clip up for me have the opportunity to get into the candy bucket daily.  Students who remain on green all week may get into the treasure box.

I will also be implementing a "How Full is Your Bucket" system this year.  I have hung mini buckets with students names on the wall.  Each time a student does something kind for another student the recipient will place a "drop"  pom pom in the good doers bucket.  When a bucket is full the student gets to eat lunch with me.

I know we are going to have a great year!

There are many areas to the website that I know you will find great value in. My goal is to make the website not just a tool for me, as the teacher, to connect with parents, but also a learning tool and resource for the students.
