Earlington Elementary has a mission. Our mission statement is recited each morning as part of our Morning Announcements by faculty, staff and students.

The Mission of Earlington Elementary is to provide all students with a safe and nurturing learning environment that unites teachers, families and community in challenging and motivating students to become respectful, responsible members of society.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family as we explore, discover and learn together in 4th Grade.

Throughout the school year, please check our class Facebook frequently in order to see what your child is up to in 4th grade! It is also there to provide you with helpful reminders, tips, homework help, etc.

Here is a little bit about me:

My name is Julie Vaughn and this is my 8th year at Earlington Elementary. I have taught 1st grade for 5 years and this is my 3rd year in 4th grade! I am SUPER excited to get this year started. We are going to have a blast on our journey to becoming better students, friends and people.

I am a 2009 graduate of the Murray State University 2 + 2 Elementary Education Program in Madisonville, Kentucky.  I earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, and am half way there to earning my Masters degree in Teacher Leadership.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Matt and our friends and family. I am a bit of a homebody, love doing anything outdoors, including trying to keep plants and flowers alive, going camping, soaking up some sun and grilling out! I also love to work with my husband on our 100 year old house, watch silly cat videos on the internet, read and watch our favorite shows on TV.  Ways I can improve my teaching and the students' environment/learning are always on my mind, so I am usually working on some school project which seems to take over the kitchen table or living room.

It is a true pleasure to work with your child this year. At Earlington, it is our mission to facilitate learning in a safe and positive environment. As your child's teacher, I will do what is best for your child daily, and help them to reach their full potential.  I will strive to provide your child with the necessary tools needed to be successful in school and life. I have high expectations for your child as they grow this school year. I hope we can work together to establish routines, set goals and establish a growth mindset in your child, in order for them to gain self confidence in their abilities and become motivated to improve in all areas.

I believe it is imperative to maintain close communication with you throughout the school year.  You can reach me through the following ways:
