  •   A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF AND OUR CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

Hi, and welcome to my classroom webpage.  I was raised and still reside in Manitou.  I attended Nebo School from K-8 grade and completed high school at Madisonville North Hopkins.  I am excited about working with your child here at West Hopkins.   I want my students to feel at home here and hope to bring a sense of community and a down to earth atmosphere to my classroom.

I have been teaching for several years now, and truly enjoy it.  I received a M.A. degree in psychology from the University of Louisville, and a M.A. degree in Special Education, from Campbellsville University.

Over the years, I have had the priveledge of working with students from a variety of grade levels (K-8), implementing a developmental therapy program (focus on positive reinforcement, leadership skills and teamwork that promote social and academc success) and the TEACCH program (used with autistic students, providing a structured learning environment to promote success) with a group of students. In the upcoming school year, I will be teaching students in both the co-teaching and resource- (small group instruction) setting in order to provide our students with the instructional supports needed so that they can successfully obtain their goals.

Our class strives to be responsible and respectful of everyone in our lives.  Not only is each student expected to do his/her best, but students are also encouraged to acknowledge that they are talented, worthwhile, and productive individuals within society.

I hope to get to know and communicate with each of you throughout the school year.
