Lighting It Up Blue for Autism Awareness

Staff members wear blue in support of Autism Awareness. Browning Springs has blue lights shining on the outside of the school.

Browning Springs Middle School is shining a light on Autism. April is Autism Awareness month, and BSMS is spreading awareness and understanding to Hopkins County as the school celebrates and honors their students with autism. Every year the BSMS staff shows their support by wearing blue and shining blue lights on the outside of the school.

April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day and thousands of iconic landmarks, skyscrapers, schools, businesses and homes across the globe unite by shining bright blue lights in honor of the millions of individuals and families affected by autism. Individuals are encouraged to wear blue in honor of people with autism.

It’s important for students and members of the community to know that we support them and celebrate them.  Shining blue lights and wearing the color blue is the school’s way of showing love and support.
