Eaves Selected WBES Principal
Wendy Eaves has been selected as West Broadway Elementary School principal.
She has a 15-year career in education, and has served as assistant principal at Browning Springs Middle School for the past five years. She previously taught English and reading at BSMS, and taught English, coached the dance team, and worked as a guidance counselor at Madisonville North Hopkins High School.
“I am excited and blessed to have the opportunity to serve as principal at West Broadway Elementary and become a member of the Bobcat family,” Eaves said. “West Broadway has a wonderful group of students and faculty/staff, and I cannot wait to see what we can accomplish together.”
Eaves earned a bachelor’s degree in English and allied language arts from Western Kentucky University and a master’s degree in school guidance and counseling from Murray State University. She also completed a planned sixth-year program in school administration from Murray State.
Her related professional experience includes serving as a member of the district’s Service Excellence Committee, Local Facilities Planning Committee, and 50/50 Committee for Certified Evaluation Plans. She has also been a Positive Behavior Intervention Systems building coach and was a teacher representative on the MNHHS Site-Based Council.
“It’s rare that you go to Browning Springs Middle School and not see a group of kids interacting with Ms. Eaves,” said Hopkins County Schools Superintendent Deanna Ashby. “Her love for kids is evident! Moving to West Broadway as a Bobcat will be a smooth transition for her because she already works with many of the parents and community members since West Broadway is a feeder school for Browning Springs. I have known and worked alongside Ms. Eaves for many years, and I am very proud of her accomplishments. She is very deserving, and I’m excited to watch her continue to grow as a principal.”
