2 Students Advance to National Spelling Bee
Top spelling skills have led two of our students to advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee!
Noah Brumfield, a 7th grader at James Madison Middle School, placed 2nd in the Regional Qualifying event in Hopkinsville. Isabella Carver, a 5th grader at Hanson Elementary, placed 3rd. This qualifies both students for the Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Md., the week of Memorial Day.
We believe this is the first time that Hopkins County students have ever advanced to the Scripps National Spelling Bee! Both are excited to go to the Scripps National Spelling Bee and are spending their time studying and practicing. You can listen to interviews with both in the Kentucky Edition feature posted at the following link: https://ket.org/program/kentucky-edition/scripps-regional-spelling-bee/.
Congratulations to both of these outstanding students!!
