Dr. Tim Roy Selected as Director of Secondary

Dr. Tim Roy has been selected as Hopkins County Schools’ new director of secondary instruction. He most recently has been principal of Caldwell County Middle School and previously served in administrative roles in HCS.
His 30-year education career includes 20 years as a middle and high school administrator. He has been principal at James Madison Middle School and assistant principal at Hopkins County Central High School. He has also served as a school administrator in Webster and Daviess counties.
“I am grateful to Dr. Fleming and the hiring committee for putting their faith in me and trusting me with this position,” Roy said. “I have enjoyed many great relationships and memories with students, families, and staff members during my time working as a school administrator in Hopkins County. I’m looking forward to getting back to work as a member of the leadership team, reconnecting with the amazing professionals who work in the secondary schools and district-wide, and helping in any way I can. I am counting on my 20 years as a school administrator to be helpful to our administrators and to our instructional team, on behalf of our kids and community.”
Dr. Roy earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Kentucky and has completed all of his graduate work at Murray State University, including Master’s Degrees in Secondary Education and School Administration, as well as endorsements in school safety, director of pupil personnel, and school superintendent. He earned his Doctoral Degree from Murray State University in P-20 and Community Leadership.
Locally, he has chaired Webster County’s Work Ready Communities initiative, volunteered for the board on the Hopkins County Dropout Prevention Council, served as a deacon and worship leader in his church, and coached travel softball teams. On the state level, he has served on the board of directors and as president of the Kentucky Association of School Councils and conducted school safety assessments on behalf of the Kentucky Center for School Safety.
